Golden Gate Postcard Style
There are probably more images of the Golden Gate and the Golden Gate Bridge than there have been humans on the planet. It is a prospect that embodies the very purpose of imagery, a combination of natural landscape beauty and the soaring architectural aspirations of humanity, occupying a special place in the American heart, and cultural memory. It's not easy to craft something new of the GGB. This post and image do not pretend to have done so. This is postcard Golden Gate Bridge. Simple. As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, this seems an apporpiate expression of optimism.
The prospect is from the northern end of Marshall's Beach, which sits north of the well-known Baker Beach. At some point, you will encounter signs that tell you not to proceed further. They're easy to miss.
This image can be printed very large, one of the benefits of imaging on a large sensor, and will reward the right space and viewing.
