If you know anything about Mono Lake, you know about its high salinity and alkalinity. Once they reach the closed lake, all those minerals have nowhere to go. I've imaged the tufa dn the stars, along with a blood moon and super moon at Mono Lake. On this night, actually this morning, I enjoyed the delightful spectacle of the Milky Way, dawn, Jupiter, and Mars, and countless stars rising over the tufa and the tiny salty sea.
