As travel hikes go, it doesn't get much easier than the Mirror Lakes walk. Mirror Lakes is located along the scenic drive between Te Anau and Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park. It's an easy drive and, once you arrive, it's an even easier walk. But it sure is worth it.
The reflections of the Earl Mountains in the ultra-still waters of the lakes, which seem more like ponds truth be told, are jaw-dropping. Given the elevated trail's popularity, the most difficult challenge is finding your composition and then making room for your tripod. I ended up putting two legs of my tripod over the railing, and shooting a 5-image stitch of the composition. I love this image for its sense of serenity, repose, and stillness.
