Reunion Tower's geodesic observation sphere sits above the Dallas skyline like a punctuation mark — designed by Welton Becket and opened in 1978, it remains the most distinctive element of the Dallas skyline at any distance. This panorama captures the full sweep of the city at sunset, the tower's sphere catching the last direct light while the glass curtain walls of the surrounding towers reflect a sky that has gone from blue to amber to deep rose. The image was made at the difficult moment between day and night, when the sky is still bright and the buildings have not yet lit up — a window of perhaps fifteen minutes that rewards patience. Dallas rewards a wide frame.
